The school was delighted to host another Travelling Books fair one sunny afternoon in May. Each class had the opportunity to visit the fair and the children thoroughly enjoyed picking out books to buy and take home. Some children were lucky enough to take advantage of a summer offer and bag themselves 3 books for the price of 2. Others were even more fortunate as they were this year’s Book Fair competition winners which meant they had a voucher to spend.
The competition was particularly tough this year with Key Stage 2 children having to write essays and Key Stage 1 children creating finger puppets of their favourite book characters. Nursery and Pre-School even joined in by drawing pictures and writing the names of their favourite characters.
Every competition entry was worth considering and Miss Thompson had a really tough time judging. However there could only be 7 winners and they were as follows -:
Reception – Ayaansh – Drawing of Babar
Year 1 – Rian – The Gruffalo Finger Puppet
Year 2 – Maks – Horrid Henry Finger Puppet
Year 3 – Hamza – Books and the Brain
Year 4 – Sastha – Books and the Brain
Year 5 – Gautham – The Kindle VS The Paperback
Year 6 – Ubaydullah – The Kindle VS The Paperback
We all wonder what next year will bring and who the winners will be then…
